Founded by sculptor Michael Prentice, Seeds of Sharpstown strives to do our part in the renaissance of Sharpstown by creating a better understanding throughout the city of the value of one of Houston’s historical hidden gems.

Our visionary motto of “So Close. So Green. So Clean.” continues to resonate with residents, the civic association, the business community, real estate professionals and the media.


The Seeds of Sharpstown staff features an eclectic variety of diverse professional and geographic backgrounds.  Hailing from three continents and speaking languages from Spanish to French, we strive to do our part in the renaissance of Sharpstown.

Michael Prentice is a renowned sculptor and investor based in Houston whose innovative initiatives to burnish the Sharpstown neighborhood have received acclaim.  His most recent effort, the creation of the Sharpstown Prize for Architecture, has resonated with city of Houston officials, and the art, architecture and real estate communities. Previous art installations he commissioned through Seeds of Sharpstown, which he founded in 2011, resulted in extensive media attention.  Prior to moving to Houston, he established his first Sculpture Atelier in Paris.  During the 30 years he was in residence, he received museum and private and public commissions from clients in France, Sweden, Belgium Germany and South Korea. He set up a granite carving studio in Kerala India for three years.  In addition to his current role as founding CEO of Seeds of Sharpstown, he is a partner in Triton Oilfield Services and involved with an innovative medical company, Mesuron Inc.  He has been a soccer dad and as a young man he played varsity hockey at Middlebury College from which he holds a BA in Art History.
